Works for me: Giving myself a break sometimes

I foolishly started a new blog series Works for Me Wednesdays right before a holiday week. I actually thought of that when I started it, but I didn't want to wait two weeks. Now, here I am with a lot on my pre-holiday to do list, and no second post for my brand new series. And I'm okay with that.

There was a time when I would have stayed up late to get everything done including a more substantive post, but sometimes I am smarter than that. Sometimes (not always) I realize that I don't have to do everything particularly since sometime (quite often) I have a tendency to get overambitious.

My Works for Me Wednesday tip this week is give yourself a break sometimes. You don't have to do everything. Even if you said you would do it. Even if you enjoy doing it. It is possible to burn yourself out doing things you love. I know. I've done it.

To be honest, it's not that I'm going to spend all night cooking and cleaning or anything. I've been doing that. My cranberries are currently in the oven. (Not a euphemism.) Now, I need a break. When I finish this, my husband and I are going to watch last night's episode of Fargo. Yes, dear readers, I'm choosing him (and me) over you for a night, and I do not apologize.

For those who will be celebrating Thanksgiving, I wish you a happy one. For those who do not observe that holiday, I wish you a wonderful day.
