Nine-year-old birthday boy interview

Nine-year-old birthday boy interview
3rd grade

When our oldest turns nine, he takes our breath away with admiration and wonder. Albeit, we still strive to be better versions of ourselves, but savor the extraordinary. Our boys loves his family and friends with all his heart. He cheers on his six girl cousins, who all play sports, and also plays ball with the boys.

Our oldest swims the length of the pool with his younger brother. He coaches his brother to kick, stretch his arms in the crawl, and breathe. He treads in deep water with his baby brother for 30 seconds. That same boy nudges you to make rainbows with your hands as you shoot the basketball. He eagerly awaits new soccer shoes and gear from his Uncle John.

While flying his first drone from his Aunt Angie, he slows down to answer some birthday interview questions.

  1. What is your favorite thing to do outside? Football.

  2. What do you want for dinner on your birthday? Steak.

  3. Imagine that you can become invisible whenever you wanted to. What are some of the things you would do? Listen to my parents and brother talk.

  4. I am very proud because… I am proud of my school, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Academy.

  5. If I were President I would… Give everyone $1,000.

  6. Name one thing you do really well? I am great at math.

  7. Describe what it means to be a good friend. Be nice, kind, help, listen, and play.

  8. I wish there were a law that said….. To forbid people from hunting animals unless it has a huge population.

  9. Pretend that you can fly whenever you wanted. Where would you go? I would fly to Great America.

  10. If I could choose a different name, I would choose… John Wick.

Our boys loves his family and friends with all his heart. He empathizes and asks how you are when he senses you're overwhelmed or anxious. When you question yourself he responds, "you're perfect." He strategically helps you simplify and focus on the big picture. Happy birthday dear nine-year-old! XOXO
