Terri Lee Ryan is the author of the popular book “Life is One Big To-Do List: A Woman’s Life after 40” and a Chicago based career transition coach. She is also a sister to her developmentally disabled younger and only sibling, Lisa, who has in many ways defined her life choices and prospective.
She advises that families with disabled children should seek professional help for all family members to better understand this life-changing event. Ms. Ryan is an advocate for siblings of the disabled in having a “voice” in expressing their observations and feelings and to be heard.
