In my Clueless opinion, no one could ever tackle the role of Cher Horowitz in 1995's Clueless better than Alicia Silverstone. Well, W Magazine was totally buggin' when they rounded up four of Hollywoods top actors Jake Gyllenhaal, Bradley Cooper, Seth Rogen and Paul Dano—to audition for the iconic role of Cher Horowitz in Clueless. I think "As If" would be appropriate here.
The actors sat down and read lines from Cher’s iconic “It does not say RSVP on the statue of liberty” speech in a video for W magazine and, well — they basically ruin it.
“What was unfortunate about reading through this for the first time,” Gyllenhaal says, “was that I realized that I talk like this. Which is a bummer.” “I’d like to preface this by saying that, what was unfortunate about reading this for the first time…is that I realize I talk like this. Which is a bummer,” Jake says before he tackles the scene.
I hope with all this buzz around Clueless they're thinking of a making a remake. Yes, I'm a fan of remakes; especially for this one.
