Stacey Dash, in the immortal words of Clueless, you are totally buggin.
Fox News commentator Stacey Dash dismissed the outrage over the lack of African-American Oscar nominees as “ludicrous.” Dash, an African-American actress and contributor to the network, also said on Wednesday’s “Fox & Friends” that to obtain integration there should be no Black History Month, award shows that honor African-Americans, or BET, a channel that focuses on African-American entertainment.
“We have to make up our minds. Either we want to have segregation or integration, and if we don’t want segregation, then we have to get rid of channels like BET and the BET Awards and the Image Awards, where you’re only awarded if you’re black,” Dash said. “If it were the other way around, we would be up in arms. It’s a double standard. There shouldn’t be a Black History Month. We’re Americans, period. That’s it.”
But the best response so far was from BET's Instagram account, who posted a still of Dash guest starring in an episode of The Game (seen to the right) — which was, you guessed it, on the Black Entertainment Television channel. BET's response/caption to the Instagram post was, spoiler alert: hilarious, "Sooooo @realstaceyldash, can we get our check back...or nah? #Remember #YouWereOnTheGame #AndWeDontMeanTheRapper."
The 49-year-old's former Clueless star probably doesn't realize this but FOX news is exploiting her ethnicity and stupidity. There's no coming back from making comments like this. Stacey, it's reckless, divisive and without merit. I wonder what you gained from making a comment that diminishes, what I consider, miraculous achievements from the people that came before us. I wonder, what's the penalty for racial treason these days? I liked you better when you were Dionne from Clueless. At least she had a valid and genuine perspective on life.
Get it together, Stacey!
