The ever evolving Erykah Badu graced the stage at Hammond, Indiana's Horseshoe Casinos' The Venue last Friday night for a soul stirring set. The performance made it one of the best live shows I've seen from her so far. The trance- inducing Badu hit the stage, about a half hour behind schedule, mesmerizing the anxious audience, and performing songs from every album she has released in her studio career. Badu performed classics like "Drama" and "Otherside of the Game" from her debut album Baduizm, "Danger" from "Worldwide Underground", "That Hump" off New Amerykah Part One album and of course the recent chart topper "Window Seat", from her recent album "New Amerykah Part Two: Return of the Ankh." After the show, we met the Neo-Soul queen with a selected 20 guest for a personal, no camera and no autograph, meet and greet where she casually spoke with attendees on topics like parenthood, spirituality and staying true to yourself in the industry.
Badu definitely gave it her all, and made my partner a fan, which he wasn't before the show.
