Last night at the House of Blues Foundation Room, the amazing, and quite beautiful, Sarah Vargo presented The Divo Series which honors influential men in Media, Marketing, Sports, Fashion, Fitness, Music, TV and much more! I must say that it feels good to be considered a Divo, even when sometimes I can be a Diva!
The word divo is an Italian word used to describe male superstars! While I definitely don't consider myself a superstar, the Foundation Room was packed with some of Chicago's most successful men. It was actually inspiring to meet fellow men that are doing some great things in Chicago.
For those of you that don't know Sarah Vargo, she developed Maven, a "connection" agency, after working at some of the nation's top talent agencies and promotional companies. She started her career at International Creative Management (ICM) as an Assistant to a Talent Agent in Concerts. After gaining experience at ICM, she worked for boutique agencies where she was able to put her skills to test through talent buying, concert promotion and media planning. Sarah has a passion for philanthropy and a determination to help others - which is evident.
Recent projects with Maven include events with Emperor's New Clothes,
Chicago Social, Bravo TV reality stars and MTV's Will from "The Real
World XX: Hollywood." One of her favorite projects is the Diva Series -
an event that honors dynamic women in Media, PR, Fitness, Fashion,
Beauty, Culinary Arts and much more - where my lovely friend Contessa Gibson was honored.
Way to go, Sarah! You've made this Divo very proud to be considered one of Maven's Divos!
Many thanks to all my lovely friends, and lovely boyfriend, who came out to support me! You guys are awesome!
And, congratulations to all the Divos from last night!
