College football season kicks off tonight, and what better way for the Big Ten season to start other than a packed Camp Randall Stadium! Mad-Town will be rockin’ in anticipation of a great year to come after their Big Ten title and Rose Bowl berth last season. UNLV shouldn’t be trouble for the Badgers. They were 2-11 last season with one of the worst offensive and defensive units in the Football Bowl Subdivision. The reason I emphasize “shouldn’t” is because Wisconsin has a knack of turning early nonconference winnable games into nail biters (Arizona State 2010: 20-19, Northern Illinois 2009: 28-20, Fresno State 2009: 34-31 OT, Fresno State 2008: 13-10, UNLV 2007: 20-13).
The Russell Wilson debut will be interesting to watch, and he should do well for the Badgers by adding an extra running attack from the pocket. Whether or not Wilson adapts well to the Wisconsin offense right away, it should be an easy win for the Badgers. I predict 35-14 over UNLV.
