It’s time to keep our 2011 football season predictions going, starting with number one in the leaders division: Wisconsin.
Why do I have Wisconsin winning the leaders division you ask? Russell Wilson. The Badgers are coming off back-to-back double-digit win seasons and Wilson seems to be the perfect fit for a team that otherwise looked like it could have a bit of a down season. However, let’s take a closer look at the Wisconsin offense. Their line will be great because it’s Wisconsin, and they’ll have another great, overrated running back that’ll break off 1,100 yards in ten games because of their great line, like every other season. The difference is that this season they have good quarterback. Wilson can throw consistently if the running games goes down the drain, and he also has the tools to escape from the pocket if need be; a pretty scary combination for opposing defenses. As for their defense, they were one of the best in the conference last season with the bulk of their unit returning, so they should be just fine. Is Bucky a national championship contender, however? Let’s not get ahead of ourselves. They won’t beat Nebraska twice, which is what they’d have to do to get a shot at it. They should, however, earn at least ten wins and a division title on their road to Indianapolis.
