It has been a few days, weeks, even a month since I have written or contributed anything worth while here. I want to apologize for this. Not that I am any Hemingway or Roosevelt , but I know that fishing, hunting and writing are ways of expressing myself and I have been lax in putting things down on virtual paper.
There are no excuses, just reasons. What? Yea I know it doesn't make sense, but then again life doesn't make sense sometimes.
I have been blessed with a beautiful and loving baby boy and he has taken up a good amount of my time. No complaints here as I wouldn't trade it for the world! Having a child has tested all I have as a man and a father and even though there are rocky times in the end it is all worth it.
That all being said, I will be spending a few days away from him as I attend a writers camp up in the northwoods of Wisconsin. Mercer Wisconsin will be my destination and my gracious hosts will be the wonderful members of the Mercer Chamber of Commerce.
The next several days will be filled with exciting activities that will highlight the wonderful things that are available in this area of Wisconsin. Kayaking, fishing, atv trials, campfires and great company are all ahead of me.
Mercer is a near and dear place to my heart and given the opportunity I hope to bring you along on my journey with entries into this amazing outlet. Look for pictures, stories, and maybe a video or two as me and several other writers get to see parts of Mercer that keep me and countless other Illinoisans coming back year after year.
