So many people say “home is where the heart is”. I lived my life in Chicago and 6 months ago moved to Las Vegas. No matter where you are you take with you what is in your heart. This is what I have come to accept.
I have been to Palms Casino events, restaurants RuthsChris another favorite. The Mob Museum here in Las Vegas is amazing. The state of Nevada has many beautiful places. The Hoover Dam, Grand Canyon, Lake Meade, Red Rock are great places to visit. If you simply want to relax, go sit on your balcony and enjoy the scorching rays of sunshine. I don’t know about other people but I can say I absolutely love the hot sun on my skin. This is a major plus when you’re from Chicago.
I am homesick for the most delicious food that Chicago has Pacos Tacos, Falco's Pizza and El Milagro tortillas. I do not miss the violence, the crime, never ending taxes on everything. The parking permits you need and the parking tickets you will receive when you don’t purchase that permit.
There are plenty of times when I miss my family & friends. I miss getting adjusted at Lopez Family Chiropractic in Brighton Park. There are several chiropractors here in Las Vegas. I just felt extremely comfortable with Dr. Roberto Lopez DC. I have yet to find the same kind of care from one here.
All this free time gives me time to reflect on many things in & about life. The relationships that you build with family & friends last a lifetime in your heart. You take them with you wherever you go. The connection you have of where you come from is a part of who you are. When you move across the country will merely be a geographical change. You carry with you what you know, what you’re used to, what makes you happy in your heart. This feeling will never change unless you do.
Wherever you are, whatever you are doing you make the best of it. New relationships, new friendships will begin but will never replace the ones you left behind. When you embark on a new journey your attitude on the matter will determine your happiness.
I live in Las Vegas but my heart will always have Chicago..
