Remember when I said that clothes matter? I meant it. I can't find a decent (or indecent) pair of fuchsia shorts anywhere. You know what else is a no-go? A pair of moisture-wicking tangerine-colored pants. They just don't exist! Please let me know if I'm wrong. Seriously. Please let me know. If I have to wear these gray or black bottoms one more week, I'm going to have to see a therapist. I'm starting to think there's something to this seasonal affective disorder thing. I need bright colors in my life!
I'm being dramatic, I know. And I know you're probably saying, "Dude, wear a fuchsia tank top. Or a lemon sports bra. This town is rife with vividly colored sports bras and tanks! Calm down."
No. I can't. And I'll tell you why. My problem areas are my torso and arms. I don't need my back fat spotlighted by hot pink and turquoise. No one needs to see that. But you know what isn't a problem for me? My ass. I like it. Even my thighs are starting to look pretty respectable after all this exercising I've been doing. Let's show off those bad boys with some cherry red, shall we?
Since shopping for workout clothes, I've noticed that manufacturers presume that a woman's problem areas are usually her butt, thighs, and hips. And, as a majority, that's probably true. I don't know. But even if it is, how about a little love for us women who don't fall into that category? Is that too much to ask? Fortunately, not for some brands. And I'm going to let you know which ones. You can thank me later by not mentioning my back fat when we all meet up for a run in our magenta, cerulean, and maybe even white running shorts! Get excited.
