2017 Movies To Look Out For

This year, Hollywood is pumping out films faster than The Fate of the Furious franchise. We haven't even gotten to the middle of the year and the list of upcoming films gets even hotter. We wanted to let you know about a few to look out for this year:

SYNOPSIS: Twenty-five years after the verdict in the Rodney King trial sparked several days of protests, violence and looting in Los Angeles, LA 92, a new feature documentary from National Geographic Documentary Films, immerses viewers in that tumultuous period through stunning and rarely seen archival footage. Produced by two-time Oscar winner Simon Chinn (“Man on Wire”) and Emmy winner Jonathan Chinn (“American High”) and directed by Oscar winners Dan Lindsay and TJ Martin (“Undefeated”), the film looks at the events of 1992 from a multitude of vantage points, bringing a fresh perspective to a pivotal moment that reverberates to this day.

Alien: Covenant 

SYNOPSIS: Ridley Scott returns to the universe he created, with “Alien: Covenant,” a new chapter in the groundbreaking “Alien” franchise. The crew of the colony ship Covenant, bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world. Alien: Covenant launches into theaters May 19th. To commemorate the return of the iconic Xenomorphs to the big screen, April 26th will officially be deemed ALIEN DAY as the countdown for the highly anticipated new chapter in Ridley Scott’s groundbreaking sci-fi thriller continues.


American Assassin

SYNOPSIS: American Assassin stars Dylan O’Brien as title character Mitch Rapp, a CIA black ops recruit who carries out covert counter-terrorist operations. Michael Keaton stars as Stan Hurley, Rapp’s instructor. The pair is enlisted by CIA Deputy Director Irene Kennedy (Sanaa Lathan) to investigate a wave of apparently random attacks on military and civilian targets.  Together the three discover a pattern in the violence leading them to a joint mission with a lethal Turkish agent (Shiva Negar) to stop a mysterious operative (Taylor Kitsch) intent on starting a world war in the Middle East.

CBS Films will release AMERICAN ASSASSION in theaters nationwide on September 15.


All Eyez On Me

SYNOPSISAll Eyez On Me tells the true and untold story of prolific rapper, actor, poet and activist Tupac Shakur. The film follows Shakur from his early days in New York City to his evolution into being one of the world’s most recognized and influential voices before his untimely death at the age of 25. Against all odds, Shakur’s raw talent, powerful lyrics and revolutionary mind-set propelled him into becoming a cultural icon whose legacy continues to grow long after his passing.

All Eyez On Me releases June 16, 2017


SYNOPSIS: Katherine Heigl (“27 Dresses,” “Knocked Up”), Rosario Dawson (the “Sin City” films) and Geoff Stults (TV’s “The Odd Couple”), star in the film and it  a reunion for Heigl and director Denise Di Novi, who previously collaborated on “Life as We Know It.” Heigl stars as Tessa Connover, who is barely coping with the end of her marriage when her ex-husband, David (Stults), becomes happily engaged to Julia Banks (Dawson)—not only bringing Julia into the home they once shared but also into the life of their daughter, Lilly (Isabella Rice). Trying to settle into her new role as a wife and a stepmother, Julia believes she has finally met the man of her dreams, the man who can help her put her own troubled past behind her. But Tessa’s jealousy soon takes a pathological turn until she will stop at nothing to turn Julia’s dream into her ultimate nightmare.

Warner Bros. Picture’s dramatic thriller “Unforgettable” hits theaters on Friday, April 21st.
