Actor, director and producer Fred Savage made his way to Chicago on May 8th to be the guest speaker for the 10th Annual CineYouth Festival held at Columbia College. The three-day festival showcased short films from young aspiring filmmakers ages 21 years and younger.
At the opening event, Savage, a Chicago native, discussed his career working in television and hosted a question and answer session for aspiring filmmakers as well as offering feedback on select films to be featured in the Festival.
Savage is best known for his starring role as Kevin Arnold on the breakthrough show "The Wonder Years", since then he's been in the directors chair. Some of his credits include: “Modern Family”, “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” and “2 Broke Girls,” and he is currently serving as director and executive producer on “Garfunkel & Oates” a new comedy premiering on IFC this fall.
