It's All About Mya

It's All About Mya

Mya, the quadruple no -- the "sextuple" threat, has so many talents she's in a league of her own; she's a singer, songwriter, producer, actress, designer and dancer/choreographer. Whew! I hope I've named them all.

She first arrived on the scene in 1998 with her self titled debut album, Mya, and took the music world by storm with songs like: "Movin On", "It's All About Me'"  featuring Sisqo`,  and "My First Night With You". It was her angelic voice , appearance, and aura that garnered her many fans. She was only 16 when she signed with Interscope giving us a chance to see her grow as a woman and an artist. Sixteen years later, Mya is a Grammy Award winning artist, has starred in the several movies including: Chicago, In Too Deep, Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights and Shall We Dance, she's also competed on season 9 of Dancing with The Stars--landing her in second place. Mya doesn't stop and she does it all so humbly and gracefully.

While she took a mild break from the U.S. market, she was still recording successful hits in Japan including K.I.S.S (Keep It Sexy & Simple) and Sugar & Spice. With such a positive response from overseas, Mya is gracing the US with her voice again. On Valentine's day Mya shared snippets of whats to come on her 8th studio album titled "Beauty & The Streets Vol. 2" which was released on Soundcloud, Itunes, and Amazon.

You can tell that her US fans missed her by the positive feedback from the songs that she's currently released.

I will have the pleasure of interviewing Mya when she comes to Chicago, on April 4th,  before her live performance at The Shrine.  ******UPDATE******* Due to unforeseen circumstances Mya will not be performing at The Shrine April 4th. However, the next time she is in town, I will be sure to nab an interview.

You can expect Mya to serenade fans with old hits that made us fall in love with her and some new hits that will make us fall in love with her all over again. Make sure you subscribe to my blog for the upcoming interview.
