Yesterday VH1 Save The Music Foundation launched their 2012 Songwriters Music Series with an intimate performance by multi-platinum soul singer Robin Thicke. Released on December 6th, 2011, Robin's fifth studio album, Love After War, was labeled a "must buy" by the Associated Press and features Robin at his most raw and honest condition yet.
The evening included opening performances by local sponsors, as well as Sing4's YouTube Contest Winner and Houlihan's Restaurants employee musicians contest winners, Black On Black Rhyme. Both contests benefitted the VH1 Save The Music Foundation and challenged contestants to sing their hearts out for the chance to perform at the evening's event.
This event marks the first stop in the Songwriters Music Series, which will then travel to New York City in June and close out at the breathtaking William Hill Estate in Napa Valley this September. The evening will serve as a platform for energized, socially conscious individuals to network amidst great music, food, and a sponsored bar, all while assisting the VH1 Save The Music Foundation in their mission to provide children with access to a complete education that includes music.
