You Better Get Your "Red Tail" To The Theater This Weekend

After George Lucas spoke candidly about the struggle of getting the support from Hollywood studios due to this film being an all African American cast, it has become the motivation that many people needed to pack theaters this weekend in support of the film. Many stars are voicing their opinions as well. Celebrities like Tyrese, Samuel L. Jackson & Oprah took to Twitter to stress their point of how important seeing the film is. Tyrese is quoted saying:

@Tyrese

This weekend I'm gonna by an entire movie theater and give away the Tix...!! #RedTails.. George is you can see this.!! Thank you captain!!!

Samuel L Jackson even Tweeted:

@SamuelLJackson

Listen Up Moughuqqas! Get out & see REDTAILS this weekend.... PLEASE! No, I'm not in it, just want to prove those studios WRONG!!!

Even Oprah Tweeted (Now you know this is big!)

@Oprah

I hope u'all support the film #RedTails this wknd. Talk to George Lucas all about it on NEXT CHAPTER this Sunday.

The movie Red Tails stars: Cuba Gooding Jr, Ne-Yo, Terrance Howard, Tristan Wilds, Method Man, Nate Parker and Bryan Cranston. The movie re-tells the story of a crew of African American pilots in the Tuskegee training program, having faced segregation while kept mostly on the ground during World War II, who are called into duty under the guidance of Col. A.J. Bullard. Many people are excited for the story to have a George Lucas spin on it.

It seems like the film is getting the support it needs but, in the words of Samuel L., to really prove the studio's wrong the support will have to be in numbers. So, make sure you get your "Red Tail" out to the theater this weekend because Oprah said so!
