Harbingers for the Hawks/Canucks series

Two things to watch as the Blackhawks start the second season.

They have to stay out of the box against Vancouver.

I had a long talk late in the season with a Western Conference head coach about the Canucks.  First thing he said: "Their power play is dynamic."

No team moved the puck better than Canuckleheads on the man-advantage (they ranked first at 24.3% on the PP).  The bond Henrik and Daniel Sedin have on the ice is scary.

If Roberto Luongo falters -- and his 17-17 postseason record says that's very possible -- don't be surprised to see Head Coach Alain Vigneault make a switch to Cory Schneider.  And fast.

Some highly respected NHL observers feel he might be the better goalie.  The Red Wings did something similar the last time they won the Stanley Cup.  Dominik Hasek stumbled early against the Predators and Head Coach Mike Babcock replaced him with Chris Osgood.  Detroit rolled from there.
