Blackhawks have to fix starts

Ask Blackhawks Head Coach Joel Quenneville how to beat a certain team -- it doesn't matter which one -- you generally get the same answer.

"We want to make them play in their zone.  We need to manage the puck.  And let's get off to a fast start."

Starts have been a strength for the Blackhawks, even during a sluggish first half.
Lately, that's changed.

The Blackhawks have trailed after the opening period in each of the last five games.  Their record over that stretch: 1-2-2.

There is only one team in the league (Washington) that has a winning record when they trail after the first.

The Blackhawks know what's at stake in their remaining 11 games.  They just have to show it when the puck drops.
