The Blackhawks want to push the pace.  No team does that better that the Colorado Avalanche who make their final regular season appearance tonight.

The Avs are so fast, that they take teams completely out of their systems.  And, they're missing some of their fastest players.

Fernando Pisani mentioned this morning that the Blackhawks -- who've dropped all three meetings against Colorado this year -- have to take away time and space.

How do you do that?

"You have to finish your checks and get in their skating lanes, so they can't get a full head of steam coming down on our D," Pisani said.  "Forwards have to come back to disrupt their odd-man rushes."

The Avs have steadily dropped in the standings.  Goaltending is a significant issue.  Peter Budaj gets his first start this year against the Blackhawks.

These are two big points, with a home-and-home with Nashville looming.
