Networking, contacts, and links (oh my!) ...

Had a bit of a whirlwind day yesterday ... my alma mater (Lawrence University) hosted the first event for a new Chicago-area alumni group at lunch (a great success with 80 attendees), which was followed by a meeting with folks from one of my consulting projects (about a new thing they're pitching involving Second Life), followed by the Chicago instance of a nation-wide (there were 11 cities doing these, plus a live Twitter chat) event, the "HAPPO Hour" set to mark the first year of the HAPPO - "Help A Pr Pro Out" organization, whose mission is "to use social media to leverage relationships and help connect those seeking a job in the PR industry with employers" ... a useful resource if that's your target workspace.  The Chicago meeting was hosted by Gini Dietrich of Arment Dietrich at their offices and featured speakers Karen Bloom of Bloom, Gross & Associates and Catherine Merritt of Ketchum ... the photo in the graphic is a snap I took with my phone of the panel discussion.

Anyway, despite being AFK a couple of days this week, I was able to pull together a fairly full slate of good job-search links from my Twitter reading ... hope you find these useful:
