My name is Alan Radevski. I'm a man of the people and enjoy working in non-profits. I'm a huge sports buff and love cheering on all my Chicago teams. I'm in love with public relations and the many different aspects of it but most importantly, I'm a recent college graduate that is looking for his first job in the Windy City.
I graduated from Northern Illinois University where I double-majored in Communications and Journalism. In the past month, one of the biggest pieces of advice I've been given is the importance for someone in the Public Relations field to create a social media platform. I was all for the idea but what would I create a blog for? My love for sports in Chicago? My love for the WWE? Where celebrities hang out in Chicago? Where people should go eat? What people should watch on TV or in Theaters? With the exception of the WWE, all that has been done and I needed to create something fresh, something that would stand out.
Windy City Job Hunting will not only follow me as I look to begin a career in Public Relations in Chicago, but follow recent college grads across different career paths. These recent college graduates are struggling to find work and many want to stay local and work in the nation's third largest city, Chicago.
I think it is also important for all of you to know that I am currently employed. However, it is a student-worker position and I've been told that I will not be hired permanently once I am done taking extra course work. I've been on the job hunt for over two months now and I feel that now is the right time to launch this blog thanks to ChicagoNow.
With that being said, I hope you come back often and check up not only on my experiences and struggles, but other recent college graduates as they look to find that first job in the Windy City.
