Explore Chicago's Mexican History with a tour through Pilsen

Fresh off the margaritas and sombreros of Cinco de Mayo, a more knowledgeable way of exploring Mexican history emerges through CitySwarm Events.  The Pilsen Cultural Tour begins at 6pm in the heart of Chicago's Mexican and Hispanic community.

Tour participants can expect to learn the history, culture and heritage associated with the Pilsen community in the hour-long walk.  Led by The Resurrection Project, a local organization committed to Pilsen community development, the tour will include sights such as St. Vitus church, La Casa and traditional murals.

All of this learning is sure to work up an appetite, and true to any explanation of culture- the tour includes authentic Mexican cuisine and bebidos (drinks) from Cuernavaca, dubbed by Metromix as the "most authentic and well decorated Mexican restaurant in the neighborhood of Pilsen".  After dinner, the fiesta keeps going with a shuttle ride to the more contemporary Dos Diablos, in River North.

If you are looking for a unique and enlightening event that has it all- culture, history, food,  and music- a tour of Pilsen might be right up your callejon.
