I heard about Al DiMeola from my doctor, of all people. And just look at this crazy jam. I wear shirts with guitars on them wherever I go and talk about music constantly.. because you never know who you'll end up chatting with about what. It results in things like your Doc furiously scribbling jazz suggestions mere seconds after conducting a hernia test.
But on to the performance. What a show this is! Dig how stripped-down -- no band; two guitarists facing one-another and having a good old jam-off. Note that it is also two guitarists with different playing styles: DiMeola uses a pic while DeLucia plays with his fingers, hand often pointing down, walking over the strings like a bassist. Both can play incredibly fast in their own way (which goes to show, I guess, stick to what you're comfortable with).
I have 100 questions for these guys. How often do you practice (constantly is the only way I've found to notice discernible improvement every year), what scales do you like (the only one i'm even close to this competent in all over the fretboard is minor (blues) pentatonic) and where can I get some cool ferns to make myself look more professional?
Anyway. Awesome jam. Rock.
