    For Chicago-native and rising star, Mz. Jae, getting to have her voice heard is like a fairytale come true. Buzz about Mz. Jae began about 4 years ago while hosting a Poetry Set at Peace and Posh Cafe, on the south side of Chicago. This curvy girl with lots of energy and a megawatt smile fearlessly entertained us all with a new brand of poetry called Cometry. Mixing laughter with a message became contagious. Mz. Jae penned and gave birth to her signature pieces, "Jeans" and "Crazy about you." Wowing audiences became easy and her love for the art became her passion. In 2009, Mz. Jae transitioned and became a member of P.O.E.T, People of Extraordinary Talent. Under the guidance of Blaq Ice, Mz. Jae was groomed for the main stage. Through artist development, harnessing her raw talent, she hit the main stage at "Breaking the Ice" in 2010. Since her debut, she's down countless shows and events earning her the nickname, "Wonder Woman." Mz. Jae describes her brand of poetry as Comedy and Poetry giving birth. "I try not to beat people over the head with concepts or principles. If I can make you smile and think, then I've done my job," Mz.Jae dotes. "Poetry is not just locs, burning incense and beating drums. It's expression of oneself, whatever that may mean to you. Poetry has many faces. I am just one of them." When asked about her influences, Mz. Jae has a long list of artists that she admires, including Elena Love, Blaq Ice, Vertigo, Lamar Hill and a host of others. Performing poetry for the past 6 years, she has gotten a glimpse of many artist and their evolution. Not yet a veteran, but still not the new kid on the block, Mz. Jae is ever changing and so is her gift. Mz. Jae plans to perform on bigger stages and perfecting her craft. In 2012, she released her debut album entitled, "The Tenth Letter." Mz. Jae is a blogger for 3 Wise Women,, and Mz. Jae's mantra is "God, you can have the glory, just give me the victory!"
