I’ve made probably a million choices in 2015. Some were epic failures and then some of the choices were just wrong. They were wrong for me, and ultimately who I thought that I was supposed to be, told I would be and chose to be.
Somewhere in between failing, falling down and getting back I decided to choose “ME”.
#2016 will be the year of thinking a little more about me. It is said that if you practice something for at least thirty days it becomes a habit so here are just a few things that I’ll practice daily until I make me the habit that I just can’t break.
Spend a moment with me! Each morning spend time in prayer/meditation before I begin my day, starting my day with a clear mind and spirit.
Have an attitude of gratitude by sharing with myself something or some things that I’m grateful for each day. I will be creating my own Gratitude Jar thanks to Sandria, a good friend of mine who suggested this great idea and I cannot wait to decorate MY BAJ (Big @$$ Jar) and add my special touches and notes.
What Do I Want? Ask myself daily, “What do I want for me, from me and to give to me?” So often we forget about us and what we need because we are so busy taking care of others.
Get Inspired! Inspiration is ALL around us. It’s in people, places and things. No matter what, we have to find the inspiration in those people, places or things otherwise we can create it. Inspiration will go a long way when the days are long or when SHIFT happens and we all know shift will happen.
The Circle! Who’s in your circle? It is great to have an amazing circle of friends. Those who will keep me rooted and grounded in me. They uplift, encourage and inspire. They are over protective when needed and will be that shoulder to cry on too. I love that fact that I can be at my best and at my worst with my friends. They allow me to have my moment but trust me; they won’t let me stay there!
So these are the creative ways that I will go out of my way to choose ME, MYSELF AND I.
