Over 250,000 people came to Grant Park and downtown for the Women's March on Chicago. The sea of humanity was so great, the formal march had to be canceled. People marched back into the Loop anyway. Wave after wave.
The marchers were a cross section of society. Young, old, infants and children with parents, all races, religions, ethnicities, genders, and gender orientation.
This was a very peaceful demonstration for the numbers of people involved. The air was almost festive as a sea of human beings marched west from Grant Park down Jackson Boulevard.
