#WeekofOutrage protest at Tribune Plaza and Mag Mile

A rally and protest was held on North Michigan Avenue on New Year's Eve. The weather was brutally cold. About two dozen people showed up to protest alleged police violence.


Protesters gathered in Starbucks across from Tribune Tower before the demonstration.

The protest was labeled "Rock in the New Year with Resistance to Police Murder". The protesters gathered at Tribune Tower Plaza at 10 p.m.

After a rally, they marched north on the Magnificent mile to Illinois Street. They hoped to march to Navy Pier but police blocked them.

They hoped to ride buses to Navy Pier.

After three buses passed the stop the protest disbanded.

Protests were planned in other major cities including New York, Houston, Atlanta, Boston, Cleveland, to name a few.

The protest was held under the auspices of the Stop Mass Incarceration Network, #Week of Outrage, and other activist organizations.
