Protesters rally in Daley Center then march to Pioneer Court

About one hundred people gathered in Daley Plaza Saturday to protest the killing of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri and alleged police brutality in general.

Local activist, Andy Thayer gave an angry speech referring to the mayor and aldermen in vulgar terms.

Other activists spoke during an open mic session on alleged police brutality, the arrival of F.B.I. agents in certain neighborhoods and the need to organize.

John Beacham, a candidate for 49th Ward Alderman demanded that police officers be disarmed.

After the rally the protesters marched through the Loop to Michigan Avenue, then on to Pioneer Court. The march was not planned with the Chicago Police Department. Police called in more personnel for pedestrian and vehicular traffic control.

Another rally was held in Pioneer Court in the shadow of Tribune Tower. Demonstration and March in Chicago from Second City Shooters on Vimeo.
