"Wine, great music, fine art and macaroni (!) will take center stage when the Crush in Old Town returns for its 11th year. It’s a truly unique urban wine and culinary fest made even more intriguing in 2013 with the addition of a Macaroni Contest among Old Town’s participating restaurants. This feature of Wine Crush will spotlight unique takes on the classic pasta dish. Attendees are encouraged to sample at food booths and vote on their favorite." Labor Day may be the end of the summer season on the Lakefront, but the street festivals go on. Crush in Old Town is one of the great street festivals in Chicago. Most of the vendors are local businesses and restaurants, along with artisans, craftspeople, and artists.
Crush in Old Town featured a grape stomping contest this year. Contestants stomped the grapes until the first one filled a small wine tasting glass.
There was also a children's area with miniature golf and an inflatable obstacle course. Crush in Old Town offers various entertainment and delights for all ages. The festival runs through tomorrow.
