You like farmer's markets. You have the disposable income to buy their expensive produce and other food products. You know the definitions of locavore, sustainable, organic, and even a few other trendy terms. You work during the day and sometimes the weekends are too hectic to even get to the neighborhood market? What is a thoroughly modern, green, hip, oh so cosmopolitan urban trendoid do?
Head for the Argyle night Market every Thursday between 4-8pm. The night market is located on Argyle Street from Kenmore to Sheridan. It is very close to the Red Line, and other bus routes. The Argyle Night market includes farm stands, local vendors, and live entertainment. It is also a great place to sample Vietnamese, Thai, Chinese, and other Asian cuisine. Argyle Street and the surrounding area have grocery stores and restaurants specializing in food products and other goods and wares from all over the Far East.
You could shop the farmers market, dine out, and finish up whatever other shopping you need all in one convenient place.
Do not pass up La Patisserie P for the best croissants and friendliest staff in the city.
Logan Square has a night market conveniently located at Logan, Milwaukee, and Kedzie, in the CTA Plaza Blue Line and bus turn around. This market runs on Wednesdays from 5-9pm. Logan Square has many dining and drinking attractions. They are more diverse than the strictly Asian Argyle area. There are also a few clubs you can stop in. Parking is easier too.
If you are of the single persuasion, you can hit both of these every week and enjoy an evening out in two great neighborhoods.
