Sun Times columnist and film critic, Richard Roeper and entrepreneur and Chicago media personality Billy Dec held their 3rd Annual Oscar Viewing Party at Rockit Bar and Grill last night. A portion of the proceeds went to After School Matters. Guests had a chance to match their Oscar knowledge against Richard Roeper for prizes. Chances were also sold for terrific prizes.
The event was well attended and guests had great time watching the Oscars while donating to a worthy cause. Complimentary splits of Santa Margherita Proseco and Proseco and pomegranate cocktails were passed around along with several delicious items off Rockit's menu.
After School Matters is a non-profit organization offering Chicago teens innovative science, sports, technical, and Gallery37 programs. Gallery37 is a nationally recognized art program for high school teens. After School Matters was inspired by former Chicago First Lady Maggie Daley and former Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs Commissioner Lois Weisberg to develop cultural activities for the city’s teenagers.
