Chicago Now held an event for some of its bloggers who are published authors at The Book Cellar in Lincoln Square on Thursday evening.
Chicago Now Community Manager and author Jimmy Greenfield hosted the event. The authors and Chicago Now bloggers included Mr. Greenfield, author of 100 Things Cubs Fans Should Know Before They Die; Carrie Goldman, author of Bullied; Fern Ronay, author of Stop and Blog the Roses; Kirk Mango, author of Becoming a True Champion; Kim Strickland, author of Down at the Golden Coin.
Several Chicago Now bloggers attended the event. Amy Guth, Social Media/SEO Manager for the Chicago Tribune was also in attendance.
Each author discussed their work and read from a portion of it. A panel discussion and question and answer segment followed. Afterwards the authors were available to sign purchased copies of their books.
The Book Cellar is a unique independent book store and meeting place in Lincoln Square. It has a cafe that serves coffee, tea, and wine. On Thursday evenings free specialty and artisan cocktails are provided.
The authors not only discussed their books, but gave insight in to the trials and tribulations of getting their works published, the hard work and time involved in writing their books, and the time spent marketing their works. The event was entertaining and informative.
The five authors wrote wonderful fiction and non-fiction works that would be great stocking stuffers for Christmas.
