Everyone Hoops: A Sketch Show

Back in the summer I was lucky enough to be able to put up a sports themed sketch show at Studio BE with Collin Dahlgren and David Schwartzbaum. I'm super excited to announce that we get to do it again, but at The de Maat Theater at Second City. The poster and press release below has all the information. I can't wait for this.

(October 22, 2013) Chicago, IL - We are proud to announce the second run of the sports themed sketch show, “Everyone Hoops”. Reviewing press are invited to attend on Thursday, November 7th, 2013, at 10:30pm at The de Maat Theater at Second City (1616 N. Wells Street). Reviewers are still welcome to subsequent shows.

Sports and competition bring out the very best and worst in Chicagoans. “Everyone Hoops” takes a humorous look at the role sports plays in our lives and covers much more than just the Bears, Blackhawks, Bulls, Cubs, and Sox. If you’re a die hard sports fan, bandwagon jumper, or just love to laugh then “Everyone Hoops” is a must see show.

Anthony LeBlanc (Second City) directs the talented cast of performers and writers Robert Bacon (Second City TC HouseCo & iO performer), Collin Dahlgren (iO performer), and David Schwartzbaum (iO performer).

PROFILES

Rober Bacon (Actor/Writer) is an iO Training Center and Second City Conservatory graduate. He performs with the Second City TC House Ensemble, the iO Harold team "Apollo", the Playground Incubator Team "Shere Khan", and the independent team "Sophomore Album". He has performed in several sketch shows, online videos, and commercials. His blog, Inside Chicago Improv, is featured on ChicagoNow.com and you can follow him on Twitter @tastethebacon.

David Schwartzbaum (Actor/Writer) started performing theater and comedy in Miami before moving to Philadelphia and becoming the Founder and Co-Artistic Director of The Off-Color Theatre Company. After producing/acting/writing seven world premiers including full length productions like “No-Talent Hacks” and “Bailout! The Live Action Sitcom”, David moved to Chicago and graduated from the Second City Conservatory and the iO training program. David performs weekly at iO Theater with Switch Committee.

Collin Dahlgren (Actor/Writer) is a graduate of both the iO Training Center and the Second city Conservatory. He has performed in two writing 6 shows including “Everyone’s A Winner” and “Forever 13″, as well as the Donny’s Skybox show “Durty Purse”. Collin performs at iO Theater weekly with “Lethal Action Force” and “Switch Committee”. You can also see him on the iO Harold Team “Denver” and the Playground Incubator team Ghost Car. Anthony LeBlanc (Director) is from Beaumont, TX. He performed with Boxaganga while obtaining a Computer Science and Physics BS at Loyola University New Orleans. An original member of DSI: The Beatbox, He wrote two Second City Chicago Main Stage Reviews; America: All Better and Taming of the Flu. He hopes that Second City helps him one day realize his dream of working for NASA, programming A.I. computer systems. He thanks Mom, Dad, David, Bond, Kennedy, his friends…and of course…Stephen Hawking.

    Bacon is an iO Training Center and Second City Conservatory graduate who lives on the north side of Chicago. You can see him perform on Saturday nights at 7:30pm with the HouseCo Second City Training Center cast of "Cry Me A Pancake" in The de Maat Theater. He also performs improv with the iO Theater Harold team "Apollo" and the independent team "Sophomore Album".
