Established: April 1997 Guanajuato, Mexico

Juan Toledo, passionate and provocative, first found his love for writing during his freshmen year at Chicago Bulls College Prep where his English teacher introduced him to creative writing.

His passion heightened as an on field reporter at Real Chi Youth in his high school years. During his senior year, he found a greater depth of appreciation and increased the intensity of his craft with the help of Ray Salazar, author of The White Rhino, and his Journalism
class at John Hancock College Prep, now a selective enrollment CPS high school.

Now in his third semester of college, Toledo has never been more at a loss as to what to pursue as his major. He has attended the University of Illinois at Chicago, and is currently enrolled at Harold Washington College finishing up his general education courses.

Toledo attacks inequalities in society and has a high level of social consciousness. He understands his place in this world and the power he entails to change and shape his world and those around him.

For almost 15 years, Juan has lived in the south west side of Chicago in the McKinley Park neighborhood. He fights social inequality with the might of his iron pen and matte black ink.
