home vs. school: the food diaries

So it's officially Turkey Break and I couldn't be happier to be home. Certainly, I'm excited to hang out with my family and friends. But I'm even more excited to eat Hinsdale food once more.

At U of I, a typical day of eating looks like this: Fiber One bar and stale coffee for breakfast. Microwavable Thai noodles and a few turkey slices for lunch. A big salad (complete with wilted lettuce) for dinner. Some watermelon slices or a cup of hot chocolate for dessert.

But here, I dine like a princess. Today looked like this: Yogurt and grapes and blackberries and freshly-brewed coffee for breakfast. Salmon and a baked potato with pico de gallo for lunch. A delicious seafood salad from Reel Club. A cup of gingerbread spice tea for dessert.

Seafood is one of my favorite things in the world and the closest I've come to it at school was earlier this week when the Ike served cod. I felt sick afterwards.

If only I could eat like this all the time...
