The Fishing and Outdoor Radio Show is a very popular long running outdoor radio show that has been on the air for the past 27 years. The show is heard simulcast on five stations throughout Chicagoland. The show airs on WCSJ AM 1550, WCSJ FM 103.1, WSPY FM 107.1, WSPY AM 1480, and WSQR AM 1180 live every Wednesday from 6:30 to 7:30 PM.
In 1983, Jim was the founder of the Fishing and Outdoor Radio Show. Now that the show has been on the air for 27 years, it's one of tbe longest running outdoor radio shows in Chicagoland.
Jim has been an avid fisherman and hunter for over 45 years. Growing up in Southern Illinois Jim has had a passion for the outdoors all his life. As a successful tournament angler, Jim now guides for smallmouth bass on Lake Mille Lacs in Minnesota during the summer months (see FishSmallmouthBass.com).
Ray joined Jim as co-host in 1990.
He captured his love for the outdoors at a young age as well. His dad started him fishing on the Chicago lakefront for Jumbo Perch. Ray has fished in Northern Wisconsin & Minnesota in pursuit of trophy Walleye and Northern Pike and won his first walleye tourament in the early 70's.
Ray also was one of the first to write articles, guide, and do seminars on Heidecke Lake. He also enjoys hunting waterfowl and upland game.
Don joined the radio show team in May of 2006.
Although Don has fished some as a child his love for the sport really began about 40 years ago. Don has fish many bodies of water around the midwest and loves hunting as well. Now besides being the producer and host of the Illinois Outdoors TV Show and being the freelance outdoor columnist for the Chicago Tribune, Don enjoys sharing his outdoors experiences with Jim, Ray and all of their Radio Show listeners every week.
