No experience necessary.
Wayne Walma will lead this class on wreath making. Students will create an all season Birch twig wreath that is suitable for indoor and outdoor use. Your wreath will look good on a wall, garden gate or potting shed. Various design possibilities will be presented.
Twigs will be selected and arranged by students and assembled on a frame with a foot operated clamp machine. 12, 14 or 16 inch diameter wire frame choices will be available. Maintenance and care instructions will be covered. An additional wreath can be made if time
permits and will cost an additional $15.00 to the instructor.
"I have been making birch twig wreaths for about 12 years.
Twigs are taken from birch trees that I use for my wood working projects,
they need to be winter harvested while trees are dormant.
I like being to utilize nearly the whole of the tree for projects.
The wreaths are very durable, some of my wreaths have hung for over 6 years out in the elements, and while weathered, still look good. One of the wreaths on my out building has served as a base for a robins nest for many years. They are fun to make and fun to enjoy throughout the seasons."
