May 1 at 1pm Campanile Center for the Arts
The Lakeland Community Concert Band will take the stage playing famous Suites along with a jazz medley arrangement and Debussy in its spring concert. Various members will be featured in small ensembles including a clarinet quintet, wind ensembles and the resident Campanile jazz band: The Unemployed Eleven. Under the direction of Mike Schultz, the community band is made up of 40 members from the Lakeland area with ages ranging from 15 to 83. Since the concert is comprised mainly of instrumental suites, the band will hold a “Sweet Sale” of goodies to defer the costs of the band's performance.
