The Bowfishing Association of Illinois will be hosting an Illinois River Spring Clean Up event at Starved Rock State Park on Saturday, April 23rd at 4 AM.

Those who wish to participate are encouraged to bring their boat and fish barrels to fill with as much trash as can be collected.  Plastic, cans, old fishing line, ropes and any other trash items that can retrieve out of the water or off the shoreline is the goal.  The club will try its best to clean up the river so many sportsmen and women love to use!

Even if you are not a bow fisher, come out anyway!  If you don't have a boat there is plenty of shoreline to walk.  And bow fishers, bring your bow and a cooler of ice because the club is also going enjoy an Illinois River fish fry and grill in the afternoon.

The Illinois Dept. of Natural Resources will be providing a roll off dumpster at Starved Rock State Park by the boat ramps that will handle the biggest item of trash you can carry!

This is going to be a fantastic event with a great cause. Pitch in and help on the Illinois River Spring Clean Up Day.
