Photos from new Illinois Outdoors TV Show on the Kankakee River

Last week Roger Wright and I were on a mission to get a TV show on smallmouth bass fishing on the Kankakee River.

Kurt Kopala who is the producer and editor of A Tight Loop online magazine has a drift boat and we all got to enjoy a day on the K-3.  Well, Roger and I fished while Kurt kept the drift boat under control by rowing/drifting down the river about nine miles.

We launched out of Bird Park outside the edge of downtown Kankakee (near Rts 17 and 45).   From there we drifted down to the Warner Bridge boat ramp.

Check out the photos.  Fishing was good and it was a nice day to be out enjoying the scenery and catch, not to mention the steaks we had for lunch on the riverbank.

This show will air on Comcast Cable, Total Living Network channel 138 at 8 AM and 9:30 AM Saturday, September 6th.  For those without Comcast, you can see the show streamed on this date at those times at www.TLN.com.   Just click on the WATCH ONLINE nav button.

There's no doubt with fishing the Kankakee River that "Great Fishing is not that far away."  tm
