Changes to the 2014-15 Illinois deer seasons are on the way. It’s going to happen. So now is your chance to voice your opinion as the Department of Natural Resources prepares to put the changes in motion. These changes may include the closing of the late season hunts and the reduction of over-the-counter sales of firearm permits. The IDNR has identified 41 counties where most of these changes will take place. The DNR is making these changes in an attempt to stabilize a decrease in the deer herd based on harvest totals and other data. Illinois hunters have had other opportunities to participate in public forums and previous online surveys.
