One of my favorite areas to visit is the Boulder Junction area of Wisconsin. Actually I'll be up there this weekend and probably again in October.
Over the last few years I've notice how well received the bike trails are in the Boulder Jct. area. There's always someone or a family enjoying a ride through the woods edge.
The Boulder Junction Chamber of Commerce and the Town of Boulder Junction are pleased to announce the much anticipated expansion of our paved bike and hike trail system. Trail users can now ride the trail north of Main Street along Highway M, 2.5 miles, to Dairymen’s Road and west of Main Street along Highway K, 1.2 miles, to Camp Manito-wish YMCA. This trail system is part of “The Heart of Vilas County Bike & Hike Trail System” which is now a combined 33 miles of paved trails running through Boulder Junction, Sayner and St. Germain. The paved trails are suitable for bicycles of all types, including road bikes, and are perfect for a family ride or hike. Additionally paved trails are handicapped friendly and we welcome and encourage people who require wheelchairs or power wheelchairs.
We invite everyone to attend a trail dedication and ribbon cutting on Thursday, September 12, 2013 beginning at 10am. The dedication will take place at the trailhead located at Highway M north at Dairymen’s Road. Parking is available at the trailhead. Hop on your bicycle and make your way along “The Heart of Vilas County Bike and Hike Trail System,” and join us for our trail dedication on September 12. For more information call the Boulder Junction Chamber at (715) 385-2400.
