This week I'm getting to spend some time in the Northwoods of Wisconsin. Yesterday I arrived in Mercer Wisconsin and am staying at Yago's Retreat on the Turtle Flambeau Flowage. I'll be taping some TV shows for the Mercer Chamber while I'm here.
When spending a week in the Northwoods fishing, being able to stay at a beautiful resort and having a cabin that is spacious, clean, and has all the amenities... it makes you feel like you're right at home.
Some people like to rough it... not me. After a full day on the water I want to relax. Comfortable furniture in the living room, TV with satellite service, all the utensils for cooking and dining in, yet close enough to a number of restaurants or lodges that serve great food is what I want.
Yago's fills the bill and I'd like to share some photos with you so you can see what it's really like.
Dinner on my first night was at Smokey's located near County K and County W. Talk about great food. You can see in the photo gallery that this is fine dining in the Northwoods. Smokey's offers great food, superior service and a great value. Next time you go up north, put Smokey's on your dining go-to list.
As you'll see, this trip is starting off on the right foot.
