Good day fishing

Roger Wright, pro staff member of the Fishing and Outdoor Radio Show and I took a ride to Cranberry Lake in Mill Creek, Indiana for a day of bass fishing.  We had a blast.

Cranberry Lake is a 140 acre private lake.  I have a membership there and plan to enjoy more days like we had this day.

Roger and I literally caught about 100 bass. The fish were biting on Berkley Chigger Craws,  Strike King  KVD square billed crankbaits and War Eagle spinnerbaits.   The key was a slow presentation.

Although we caught no trophy fish, the photos below will show you that we caught some fair sized fish.   We were there just at about spawn time for the fish but we did not target them.  We did see some fish on beds but left them alone.   For the good of the order it's best not to go for the easy catch of spawning fish.  We'll get our fair share of big fish later this spring and summer.

With Cranberry Lake being only an hour and a half from my south suburban home, "Great fishing is not that far away."  tm
