Less than two days away and I'm headed for the Northwoods. Ice fishing, Frozen Tozen, good eats, and visits with friends like Mark and Kris at the Forest Lake Country Store. I'm staying at the Wildcat Lodge and will be pulling some of the big crappies out of Big Kitten Lake. That will be fun. More so it will be great to get my wife Judy catching the big slabs that the lake gives up year after year.
Mark I'll see you in a few days.
Here's Marks February news...

Special news and a couple Wine and Liquor specials!
Here is the release from the Sunrise Lodge. Karen is Elsie and Dick Mendham’s Daughter in Law. She is also an employee at the Land O’ Lakes Public Library, coordinating all the children’s activities.
Help us help Karen to win!!!
Last summer Frito-Lays announced a contest to invent a new flavor of Lay’s potato chips. Inventor of the winning flavor will receive $1 million or 1% of the 2013 sales (whichever is greater). Runners up each receive $50,000.
While at a cookout Karen Weber-Mendham and others began discussing the contest and throwing out ideas for a new flavor. Karen came up with and submitted Cheesy Garlic Bread and is now one of the top three finalists.
New flavors are to hit the stores and voting begins on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 and continues until May 4th.
Look for her name on the front and her picture on the back. There is to be one vote per person per day. Rules can be found at www.facebook.com/lays
There are three ways you can vote for your favorite. You can go to the Lay's Facebook page for the contest (which doesn't appear to be open for voting quite yet, texting "VOTE" to 24477, or using the Twitter hashtags #SaveGarlicBread.
We ask you to be sure and cast your votes and to pass this along to your friends, co-workers and email buddies. You can imagine our excitement for Karen, not to mention all the attention this should bring to Land O’ Lakes.
You can vote three times a day, once on each platform; Twitter, Facebook and texting. We hope that you can help Karen realize a dream!

Things in the north woods have changed drastically since the beginning of February. SNOW!! Lots of snow. It seems every merchant in town has a permanent grin on their faces after a less than desirable January. Snow is the driving force of the entire winter economy in the north land, and we have it now baby! We thank God for a much more seasonal weather pattern this month than we have seen in the last 6 years. We continue to pray for more snow thru the next 8 weeks of winter!
Thank you so much for taking the time to read and share our newsletters. We enjoy the time that you spend in the Forest Lake Country Store.
