Last week I attended the Association of Great Lakes Outdoor Writers (AGLOW) annual conference in Branson Missouri.
The conference was held at the Chateau on the Lake which lies on the shores of Table Rock Lake. My wife Judy came along and enjoyed the trip as much as I did. Our room was on the 10th floor which gave us a beautiful view of the Atrium area as well as a breathtaking mountain view of Branson.
The AGLOW conference not only offers seminars for writers and corporate members, but also do-it sessions where we get to go fishing or touring the area, spouse tours, entertainment, and much more. Corporate sponsors like Chevrolet, Frabill, Road Runner, Bushnell, MarCum, Strike Master, and Rapala, just to name a few, bring out their wares to show the writers the newest in fishing tackle and outdoor products. We call it the Super Breakout Afternoon. More on that will be posted on a blog soon.
An Awards in Craft luncheon is also held and yours truly for Illinois Outdoors TV won 3rd Place in the Sportsman's Channels Best TV in the fishing catagory.
Being on the Executive Board of Directors, I attended some business meetings, but that didn't mean this trip was all business. One day I got to fish for trout on Lake Taneycomo with the Godfather of Ice Fishing, Dave Genz and past AGLOW President and Publisher of the Outdoor Guide Magazine, Bobby Whitehead. We did good, catching quite a few trout. I'll have a TV show coming out soon to share with my viewers and another blog with the fishing photos.
For now, let me share with you some photos that I took in the Atrium of the Chateau on the Lake, the view from my room and some other miscellaneous photos.
