Illinois Outdoors reviews a 2012 Chevy Tahoe

Last month I had the opportunity to test drive a Chevy Tahoe on a trip to Boulder Junction, Wisconsin.

i was very pleased to find that the vehicle offered a smooth ride and had a most comfortable interior.  The power front seats in this vehicle were air conditioned too.  Wow, one never knows the advantage of something like this until you get into the SUV after it's been sitting in the sun for awhile.

There was plenty of room for seven passengers but with only my wife and I going on the trip we appreciated the extra space for all of our gear for the week long trip.  I took the two rear seats out with ease and lifted the middle two bucket seats, folding them forward.  We had loads of room for coolers, luggage and more.

In the cockpit, we had a navagation system, back up camera, AM, FM, and XM radio with a Bose speakers system. The sound was out of this world.

Although this Tahoe had 4 wheel drive, I really didn't need to try it because it handled towing my boat with no problems at all.  Launching my boat,  in and out of boat ramps was a snap, even on some soft Wisconsin gravel ramps.

One other thing that I liked was the Blind Spot warning system in the side view mirrors.  No kids were in the back, but they would have also enjoyed the ride with the roof mounted DVD player.  Speaking of roofs, this Tahoe also had a retractable sun roof.

I did a brief video on this great vehicle.  I'll give this one a 4 star rating.  Gas mileage was good, even while towing a boat.  It was comfortable, stylish and had so many whistles and bells that made this Chevy Tahoe one of the best vehicles I've ever driven.

Enjoy the video.
