Lower Niagara Fishing Photos

At the Association of Great Lakes Outdoor Writers Spring Mega Media Cast N Blast, some great fishing was had on the Lower Niagara River, the eastern basin of Lake Erie and Lake Ontario.

We could not have done it alone.  We had a lot of help from guides like Matt Yablonsky (www.GetTheNetWet.com), Jeff Draper (www.NiagaraGuides.com) and so many others.

Some of the AGLOW members that I got to fish with inclued Dan Stefanich (www.DanStefOutdoors.com), Brooke Dreose (www.Frabill.com),  John Mazurkiewicz (KeepAmericaFishing.org), and Pat Kalmerton (www.WolfpackAdventures.com).  I also got to do some fishing out of  the new 12 ft. Hobie Pro Angler with fellow AGLOW member, Curt Hicken (Curt Hicken Outdoors).

Besides members being able to try out various modles of Hobie kayaks and boats, we got to use some quality gear from Shimano.  The rods and reels handled the smallies and big trout as well.  TriggerX minnows did well catching a lot of smallies for the guys and gals and some of my big steelies came on Kwickfish lures.

Ok, time to brag a bit.  My biggest fish was an 18 pound Lake Trout.  Also caught some Steelhead and loads of big smallmouth bass.  Besides these, the area also offers great fishing for walleye, muskie, largemouth bass, pike and panfish.

So let this post be the bragging board for all of us as so many of the outdoor writers and corporate sponsors did very well.  Enjoy the photos.
