Barton Hill doesn't look like a fishing resort... but is

My wife will be jealous when she sees the photos.

I'm in Lewiston, New York for the Association of Great Lakes Outdoor writers Spring Mega Media CAST n BLAST.

AGLOW out did themselves selecting this destination for a group of outdoor writers and communicators to enjoy some of New York's best smallmouth bass and salmon fishing as well as turkey hunting.

We're staying at the Barton Hill Hotel and Spa (www,BartonHillHotel.com).

What a gorgeous hotel.  It has a flavor of being an upscaled old hotel, like from the mid to late 1800s.  The rooms are spacious and have high ceilings.  My room has a fireplace.

But then it also has all the comforts of home, flat screen cable tv, a Keurig coffee maker in the room, and a very comfortable bed to sleep in after a long day of fishing or hunting.

Now this doesn't seem to be a place that may be thought of as a fishing resort, but right across the street is the lower Niagara River.  About 10 minutes away is Niagara Falls.  Fishing here is fantastic.

There's a big lot across from the hotel where you can park your boat trailer.  So bringing your boat is not a problem.

I've yet to explore everything for the outdoorsmen and women who would enjoy Lewiston, but I will find out quickly.  Here are some photos.

This is a great place to go fishing.  My trip here is not even close to being over and I know already...  I'll be back.
